UAE document and application planning

Police certificates & translations

Use IRCC’s country-specific police certificate instructions, not a generic checklist. Arabic documents require an English or French translation that meets IRCC’s rules. Keep a record of UAE and earlier-country addresses and dates.

Education & language

For Express Entry, check whether you need an Educational Credential Assessment and take only an IRCC-approved language test. English used at work in Dubai is not a substitute for required test results.

Biometrics & medicals

Most temporary and permanent residence applicants between 14 and 79 may need biometrics. A medical examination is requested when applicable; do not book steps at the wrong time—follow the instructions sent for your file.

Financial evidence

Settlement-fund requirements can apply to some Express Entry applicants and are updated by IRCC. Review the current proof-of-funds guidance and document accessible funds honestly.

UAE to Canada questions

I live in Dubai but hold another passport. Can I still apply?

Yes, residency and citizenship are both relevant facts, but eligibility is assessed under the Canadian program rules. You may need documents from more than one country.

Where can I verify the latest immigration facts?

Start with IRCC’s Express Entry eligibility page and confirm details before applying, as policies change.
